Crash Investigators with the Allen County Sheriff's Department have arrested the driver who left the scene of a fatal hit and run crash on July 25, 2024.

With information provided by the public, officers from multiple jurisdictions in conjunction with the Allen County Sheriff's Department were able to locate the semi tractor believed to be involved in the fatal hit and run crash that occurred on July 25, 2024 on I-69 northbound near the 319 mile marker. We appreciate all the assistance from both the public and other jurisdictions in this investigation.
On July 25, 2024, at approximately 2:38 A.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff's Department responded to the area of I-69 northbound near the 319 mile marker, reference a disabled semi on the side of the highway and a body lying in the roadway.
On July 22, 2024 at approximately 12:57 P.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff's Department responded to the intersection of West Washington Center Road and Stahlhut Road, reference a two-vehicle crash with injuries.
